Archive No. 01The Fossilized Spring
Location: Tauranga · Year: 2026
Medium: Gypsum, meringue, cacao powder, sugar, wine barrel
Concept: Edible mineral formation concealing a functional hydrological mechanism
An architectural vessel enclosed entirely in gypsum, sculpted to suggest ancient, calcified stone. Only the monolith's tap remained visible. Elevated sugar islands carried meringue mushrooms dusted in raw cacao, positioned to be taken by hand, a tactile and ritualistic interaction. Positioned outdoors against a dark stone wall after nightfall. Material concealing function. Architecture dispensing fluid. Geology made edible.
